Christina Wiley

State Director, Civic Engagement and Youth Development

Christina Wiley (she/her) currently serves the Florida State Alliance of YMCAs Foundation as the State Director of Civic Engagement and Youth Development. In her role, she is responsible for the development and execution of the Florida YMCA Youth In Government program, as well as supporting innovation and implementation of civic engagement and teen-focused initiatives statewide. Before joining the staff of the Florida State Alliance of YMCAs Foundation, Christina served iCivics as a Curriculum Associate, where she developed lesson plans and innovative educational resources about local, state, and federal government. Today, she serves as a part of the iCivics Educator Network.
 
Christina’s previous involvement with Tufts Tisch College includes the Summer Institute of Civic Studies and a Teaching Assistantship for CVS 0020: Introduction to Civic Studies. She holds a Masters of Education in Specialized Studies with a focus in Civic Education, Education Policy, and Nonprofit Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She also completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Political Science at the University of Florida, with a Minor in Public Leadership through the Bob Graham Center for Public Service. While pursuing her studies, Christina completed various jobs and internships with organizations like Harvard’s Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics, Generation Citizen, the University of Florida IFAS Assessment of Non-native Plants in Florida’s Natural Areas, and the City of Lakeland Office of Management and Budget.
 
Christina lives in Lakeland, Florida, and travels extensively throughout the state. She spends long drives dreaming and scheming about how to set up a fully functional remote office on the beach. Her favorite thing about being a Floridian is viewing scenic sunrises and sunsets across diverse landscapes.
