A Discussion of Concepts, Infrastructures & Approaches in the US and Germany

20. April 2021 @ 17:00 - 18:00

Free

We are excited to launch the new AdB and Tisch College of Civic Life project, the “Transatlantic Exchange of Civic Educators (TECE)“, with an open event that will explore practices and policies of politische Bildung and civic learning in Germany and the U.S. The two speakers, Dr. Peter Levine, Associate Dean and Lincoln Filene Professor of Citizenship & Public Affairs in the Jonathan Tisch College of Civic Life at Tufts University, and Prof. Bettina Heinrich, Professor of Social Work and Culture Work at the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Ludwigsburg, will each give a brief overview of concepts, infrastructures and approaches in each national context, followed by questions from the audience. We look forward to an engaging discussion that will provide food for thought and kick-off this year-long transatlantic conversation.

After the main event, we will hold an informal question and answer session to answer any questions about the TECE Fellowship application process. More information on the project and how to apply to participate can be found here: https://tece-usde.org/
The event will take place on April 20th 2021, 5 – 6pm (CEST) / 11 – noon (ET).
